Webair participates in World IPv6 day on June 8th!
Webair is pleased to announced that after a 3 month deployment project it has successfully integrated IPv6 support throughout its global networks.
Webair has already allocated a large number of IPv6 addresses to existing and new clients who wish to utilize the new Internet protocol. We are now encouraging our customers to test and and integrate IPv6 into their applications and services by providing free IPv6 allocations.
Users can view our website (
www.webair.com) via IPv6 by visiting
http://ipv6.webair.com. Additionally, our secure control panel is also available via IPv6 at
https://ipv6.cp.webair.com. Do those IPv6 links work for you? If so, you?re already IPv6 enabled and should thank your ISP for being cutting edge and thinking ahead! If the links don?t work then we?re sorry, but your ISP does not yet support IPv6.
On World IPv6 Day, we?ll be taking the next big step! Together with major web companies such as Google, Facebook, and Yahoo!, we will enable IPv6 on our main websites for 24 hours. During that time
http://www.webair.com and
http://cp.webair.com will also be reachable via IPv6. This is a crucial phase in the transition, because while IPv6 is widely deployed in many networks, it?s never been used at such a large scale before. We hope that by working together with a common focus, we can help the industry prepare for the new protocol, find and resolve any unexpected issues, and pave the way for global deployment. Check out
http://www.worldipv6day.org/ for more details on World IPv6 Day.
Webair will also be participating in an NYC IPv6 meetup on June 8th to discuss it?s IPv6 integration process and deployments.
How big is IPv4 compared to IPv6? IPv4 supports 4.5 billion usable IPs, while IPv6 supports 340 undecillion addresses. To put that into perspective, there are more IPv6 address than molecules in the solar system!! Webair is happy to provide our clients with a standard allocation of a few billion addresses for clients to play around with (is that enough for you?)
Contact us today if you?d like to learn more about IPv6 or enable it on your hosting account!.
