I can see this happening. I can see Pepsi getting .pepsi and then having "buy.pepsi.com". Or if they decide to have an orange flavored Pepsi cola, they have "orange.pepsi" instead of "orange.pepsi.com" or "pepsi.com/orange" - Must easier for consumers to remember when hearing an ad.
Think about how this might change porn. You can buy .lesbian and then from there roll out hot.lesbian, blonde.lesbian, kinky.lesbian, etc, and so forth - and totally dominate that niche.
Playboy could get "brunette.playboy" and so forth.
Oh, the big players will have fun with this.
