That's completely false. First of all an ad network is not selling their own traffic, it's from their publishers. Second, some publishers would rather deal with an ad network they know pays and many other publishers trust, than send it to an affiliate program trying to guess if they'll make the same amount of sales this month as last month.
And what you are saying is, if YouTube or any other major website's traffic was worth anything, they wouldn't be selling it?
