You should see the fights where gangs of Thai boys with sticks and bottles attack 1 foreigner. Then the police arrest the foreigner, and IF he caused any damage to the Thais, he has to pay for all their medical expenses and pay them money just because they want it.

I knew a guy who was brutally attacked by a group of Thai guys. They had weapons and were using them on him. He was somehow able to break away during the attack and run to a fruit stand where he grabbed a knife to defend himself against the small group. He ended up cutting a few of them up. HE got arrested and had to go to court. Ending up having to pay an insane amount of money to the court and then pay huge sums to each of the Thai guys he fucked up, regardless of the fact they beat him first to a bloody pulp.

Thailand is crooked, corrupt, and rotten to the core. Pattaya is crooked, corrupt, and rotten to the core on steroids.

They may have been taken off the "third world" list due to economic reasons, but as a social society, they are broken and as third world as they come. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Thailand turns into Burma, or worse, after their current king passes.
