I've been with them for years, dedicated boxes... they're fast at support and make good on any real issues, I have no complaints... other than they keep billing me.
I use my own mail, I've had my own issues, so I would think any mail server moving large amounts of mail, even legit mail, will have its issues on any host. If you're worried about it, get a dedi box with your own mail on it.
Every host has accounts that get IP's banned, so it's always possible you get one. However I've never gotten a bad with with phatservers, and I have a decent number of unique ones.
