My gf was ordering shit online, so I gave her my Amex number. The site was secure and this is the ONLY place that the card has been used that is different than the norm.
This took place on Wednesday... Thursday afternoon I get a call from Amex that they believe there has been fraudulent activity on my card... some $16,000 worth

Some idiots bought plane tickets from South America to Mexico then to Los Angeles then to San Diego. Why? They were bought from some South American airline then the others were bought by American Airlines... but wouldn't the airline decline the person from getting on the flight? Or why would someone try to do that, have to be pretty fucking stupid.
Thanks to Amex for covering my ass on this. One charge went through to Mexico City but the others didn't. I sure HOPE those thieves are stuck there now with no money and no flight
