#3 THE WHO (One of MP's Top 5)
The Who. Def have a few tunes that are absolutly top notch and deserve to be included in the Best of Classic Rock. Some were played to death in the late 70's but time allows me a fresh perspective.
Since I alread posted "Wont Get Fooled Again" (my fav and an absolute TOP tune of all time - perhaps as electrifying as anything)
Truely electrifying bands, like we are hearing tonight, had the ability to just put you in awe live. You would walk out in a daze and ten miles high.
I remeber my first concerts Grand Funk, Uriah Heep, Santana, Blue Oyster Cult, Jethro Tull, Rod Stewart (1980's that dont count

) and others.
You would get high as hell smoking a ton. The arena would literally, LITERALLY be a haze of pot smoke. A thick haze.
You did not need to bring smoke. The FAT joints were passing all over through the crowd. This was mostly at The Saint Paul Civic Center but also the Mpls Auditorium.
When the lead band finally took the stage (usually you had at least 2 warm up bands) Santana was actually a warm up band. The THIRD from the top band that night.
But alas I cant remember 3/4 of the concerts (or bands) I been to.

Seriously. Let me think on it. hehe
this song is almost in the league of Led Zep Stairway To Heavon (hint at one of the bands POSSIBLY in my last 2

)
this is just really stony (and stony gets HIGH marks

) ala Eight Miles High
the beginning oif this and really all of it is really GREAT stoned
freedom - that was a big theme in the 70s - are we finally free?
great song, shows off lots of Pete Townsend and Roger Daltry
