.XXX will not become manadatory, it's just not possible. you already have expanding TLDs on the horizon like .adult, .porn etc so that nips it in the bud right there.
then you have all the existing sites and legal battles into decades. if the lame asses try to make .XXX mandatory it will be tied up in the courts so long it will lose any value it has, which ain't much to begin with.
