Here's what happened. Epass had our money in a bank. They then decided to open their OWN bank. So then our money is during in a bank owned by Malick. (A lot of it, anyway.) Malick decides to make a movie, so he needs to borrow several million from a bank. Which bank does he get the loan from? The bank he owns! So our money, which epass handed to the bank, is at that point loaned to Malick's production company. That's all fine because when people buy tickets to the movie the loan will be paid back and the bank will have our money. Except that the movie sucked so bad it never went national. Only $150,000 in tickets were sold for a movie that cost millions to make. Malick's movie company can't pay back the loan. Our money is gone. Malick'a bank goes out businesss.
Yet someone eventually saw two it that we got our money back, at least debit card money. It took a couple of months, but my money was returned to me.
From what I can see, Malick went from high roller to losing it all by risking our money and his business ib the movie. I don'tb think he's "laughing" about going from the king of porn payments to unemployed. Malick is definitely an asshole for rising our money on the movie loan. Still, the fact that the money was eventually repaid makes me suspect that the head of epass, Malick, did some work to make that happen. It doesn't make up gor him losing the money for months, but it suggests that he not laughing about the situation.
