I live in Seattle. It's not like that all the time...in fact, spring / summers here are beautiful. We have our rainy months which run from about Oct/Nov - Feb-ish.
What I do like best is that we have fairly easy winters here...other than this past winter, most winters have been extremely mild as far as snow goes.
BTW, Loved "The Killing" but keep in mind most of it was actually filmed in Vancouver BC, not Seattle.
