Aquarium may prosecute shark tank skinny-dipper
A Brighton aquarium is investigating after a comedian went skinny-dipping in its shark tank for a £1 bet.
Staff at Brighton Sea Life Centre weren't impressed when Guy Venables stripped off and jumped into a tank containing sharks, turtles and fish.
Staff claim Mr Venables' stunt endangered the sea life, according to The Argus.
The 34-year-old entered the centre with a hired film crew and, after watching the creatures on show, he went into the room with the tank.
The Argus says he placed a fake sign on the door which read: "Closed for five minutes for fumigation" to prevent interruptions.
Mr Venables said: "I took everything off except my goggles and just climbed in. It wasn't the sharks I was scared of most - it was the turtles. They were huge and looked very frightening."
The centre's general manager, Toby Forer, said: "We are investigating this incident, which we take very seriously. It was a reckless act. We are looking at CCTV footage and will prosecute if necessary."
