im wondering something about url subfolder keywords. Im using a car brand as example for my question...

lets say, i want to rank for 'cars' for my mainpage so i get 'carsinfo.com'.
i also want to rank the subpage about the brand AND the models of these brands.
For these pages i want to rank for 'honda cars' and 'honda civic car'.

when i make the urls like these keywords, is this excessive use of the same keywords? Like this:
carsinfo.com/honda-cars/honda-civic-car/
Here ive got every sub page covered for the desired keyphrases. But car(s) gets repeated 3 times & honda 2

Or should i keep it short like this, where the combined keywords in the total url all form every keyphrase.
carsinfo.com/ - 'cars'
carsinfo.com/honda/ - 'honda cars'
carsinfo.com/honda/civic/ - 'honda civic car'

which is better purely for SEO? I dont want to win the beauty prize (obviously the short url is prettier but leave that out of the equation), just want the one that will benefit seo the most. Im curious what you guys will have to say!
