These cars are still in production (as most of the other Soviet shit piles like the volga etc where only the wheels have changed in the last decade) because it takes billions of dollars to develop new cars and put them into production... and because Russia does not have the ability to develop new, reliable cars on any real scale. These fucking cars aren't even Russian to begin with.
They are Italian (Fiat)
