QFT. 90% of the people who decide they'll save a few pennies by leaving their business in the hands of luck rather than a qualified sysadmin will one day regret it. Amerinoc and others provide expert service at very low prices. Even our concierge service doesn't cost that much.

The OP hasn't posted nearly enough information to be able to provide solid guidance on what type if server would be appropriate. I can make a comment on VPS in general. Although in theory VPS can provide more efficient use of resources, it's very hard to know what you're getting. The limiting factor for most severs in disk io since disks are a thousand times slower than any other part of the server. How many VPS provides specify how many iops you get, or any other useful information about the resources other than drive space and network bandwidth?

Partly for that reason, we do VPS as a "half server". The webmaster gets all of the hardware specs just like you would with a dedicated server, and you share that hardware with exactly one other webmaster.
