That's the problem with private health insurance. You're reliant on a private company to keep you well or even alive. Sucks.
I was never ill or needed hospital treatment, except the occasional cold, from 1965 to 2008. Paid out my Health insurance like I should.
2009 I discover I have cancer and get it cured on the National Health. I paid $2 a visit to the doctor. Now I find out I have a hole in my gums and need a specialist dental surgeon. And the specail food I injected into me, free on prescription, for over a year has given me a hernia. It's common apparently. (shit!!) And will need an operation, free on National Health. I also see 2 specialists every 3 months, alternatively getting a ultra sound scan or a camera down my nose before hand. Just to check up. Free on the National Health.
I'm also getting invalid benefit.
All paid for over the years.
If I had been run over badly when I was 15 and wheel chair bound for the rest of my life, I would of been covered. Or anything else. I'm prepared to carry the few layabouts for the benefits. Yes they should be made to work, sweep the streets etc. But not at the cost of going to a Private Health Scheme.
For years I had one of those to give me a private room and no waiting time at my doctors. That's an option open to many.
Some of the replies here are disgusting. You guys need to have some shit hit you, to make you realise what it feels like. Not much, just a little bit.
