Not slamming the former penal colony here as such but Australia is a net importer of food, oil and many other necessities.
The USA is a net exporter of damned near everything.
What does this mean?
If things go to shit on a wolrd-wide basis, you'll not want to be in a country which relies on imports for its food, security, hardware and even the basic necessites of life. If things get bad in the USA, imagein what they will be like elsewhere!
Yes, the USA has more than one problem but if things go to shit, I'd sure as Hell rather be in the USA than almost anyplace else.
