Sir, you are exactly right!
I went to two more places and they both did the acid test and they both
offered me money for the gold chain.
It is real 14k gold.
The money offered was only $31,
BUT, when I bought it I estimated that I could
always pawn it for $30.
That hasn't changed in 25 years.
I can get it fixed for $10 though.
So maybe I will fix it and wear it for hopefully another 25 years and see if I
can get $40 for it then.
