the only thing you may customize is the forms themselves, there's nothing else to customize. And it's pretty easy to do it with CSS. Plus, the forms can be arranged, mixed, complemented and placed in any way you want and anywhere in a site.
the above being said, the default option is HORRIBLE, both aesthetically as functionally. But customization options are almost endless, so their horrible default may become perfect.
Anyway, I think they did a great job from a coding POV, but they're those kind of coders that have no idea of UI, UX or aesthetics, that's why their default sucks so much. But as long as they give me the option to customize things as I wish, I'm a happy camper and couldn't care less
