I made a new friend at a club about 7 years ago. He was smoking a huge cigar, and I hate cigars. Anyway, rather than just walking away, I forced myself to strike up a converstation despite the cigar smoke. We discovered we really had nothing in common, but became good friends anyway.
Chased lots of girls, went to lots of clubs, he rented a room from me when he needed a gap between apartments, I made him a website to help his business, he promoted my Google Adsense and sent me traffic...etc etc etc.
He died of a heart attack Thursday. The cigars that he loved, eventually killed him. I had just talked with him Tuesday.
It's weird to be attending a funeral for a person that I never thought I would be friends with, who later became one of my best friends.
