I agree that way too much of a blind eye is turned in our industry when it comes to a subject like sex trafficking. The mistake is assuming that because somebody is responding to an asshole comment by a western cop it means they aren't aware of broader issues. Sometimes standing up and being counted is a value in itself. Our ibdustry is full of women and men that have their value as human beings judged based on the fact they show their boobs or have sex for money. You can rape a porn star even if the world thinks she is a 'slut' and in someway, I feel that is connected to the view that is held towards the trafficked women and girls. If those with the most rights aren't prepared to defend those rights then how likely are they to fight for the rights of those with fewer rights?
