i don't get why many like you always immediately think in military terms - it's only missing Vendzilla now who explains that chinese submarines cannot compete with american submarines...
China does not plan to attack anyone, they just show strength so that no one gets the idea to attack them on their soil.
but if you look at their economic development over the last 20-30 years then you know that it's only a question of time till they are number one anyways. without a single shot.
