I see Tubes as today's Peer to Peer networks. Over time, they will fade away as they are a very costly business model that requires significant bandwidth for the return.

With the close margins they see, if their traffic does not convert and if advertisers don't get the impressions they need, over time, many will selectively (by the consumer) fade out.

Market saturation is now at it's peek with little room for new entries. This drives competition that requires Tubes that don't have a solid traffic record, will need to find creative ways to interest their users such as HD video and Mobile, or niche specific content, all of which cost more money on a narrow margin business already.

After that is anyone guess but in the end, free will always get the traffic.
