Formed in the aftermath of the botched 1980 attempt to rescue 52 Americans held hostage in the U.S. embassy in Tehran, the unit is tasked with carrying out highly secret missions that are often officially denied by the US military and government.

They exist outside military protocol; engage in operations that are at the highest level of classification and often outside the boundaries of international law. To maintain plausible deniability in case they are caught, records of black operations are rarely, if ever, kept.

In interviews with Navy Seal members about information of Team 6 there response was simply: ?They don?t exist?.

SEAL Team Six is an elite within an elite.

Team 6 poached the top operatives from other SEAL units and trained them even more intensely from there.

Team 6 is normally devoted to missions with maritime authority: ship rescues, oil rigs, naval bases or land bases accessible by water.
As luck would have it, they are the only guys who really know what happened during the alleged Osama raid and kill. What they were doing in Afghanistan is anyone's guess.

The elite of the elite was able to fly in and out of Pakistan, bypass their radar, kill Osama and everyone else in the compound, and do so while one of their helicopters was disabled. But they get hit and killed by a Taliban rocket while cruising around Afghanistan.

Sure, why not.
