I had a Walther PPK and it was way too small for my hands so watch out for that. I have owned several semi-auto handguns but actually prefer a 357 mag because you will never have to worry about jamming. What you want is stopping power and from what I understand a 125 grain 357 is one of the best. One gun I could never shoot a good pattern with was a 40 cal S&W. I do like the Glock 40 cal and also many of the Sigs regardless of caliber.
