I've had 3 Acers that all died, then I started getting Lenovo's - they last.
Bot for cheap ones, I bought a Dell for my mom, she loves it. She also knows nothing about computers so take it for what you want. In fact, she once got a pop-up that said:"We are watching you" - So she closed the drapes, got down and the floor and called me lol
