I like blackmonsters response to this, especially noting that the question was aimed specifically at women rather than people in general. It's like women may have drastically different reasons as to why they do it; in truth people regardless of gender have all kinds of different reasons for getting into porn - yep, money, fame, etc can enter into it just as much as anything else - but it's still a widespread belief that women who get into porn are more likely to be rooted through as something fundamentally negative.
Consider Jackass: a bunch of guys get together and film themselves doing stupid shit which could, and has, actually fucked themselves up to various degrees. But still you don't see a bunch of people getting together and discussing "Ohh those poor men, why are they degrading themselves like this? What must have happened to them to result in their need to do this? They must be low on cash", etc, etc. People widely acknowledge that these guys get a kick out of it and seemingly genuinely enjoy this daredevil lifestyle, and many people enjoy watching it. If it was a bunch of women doing that shit, there'd likely be international concern peppered with pleads to "help them".
Why? Because women are still made into these hapless victims who lack responsibility, can't think for themselves, and are unable to make rational decisions based on the fact that they'd simply enjoy something.
Just mah take on it.
