Well, I started playing string instruments when I was young (guitar, mandolin, ukelele), and I soon decided that I wanted to be a rock and roll star.
My parents had other plans though, which created a lot of tension, plus we moved a lot due to my Dad's work. The other, and main problem, which derailed me was that I cannot seem to compose music, however much I try (I've only written 2 songs in my life, although I can play thousands of songs by heart).
Anyway, I'm happy that I was able to at least have the experience of playing in cover bands for about a decade - a part of my life that I loved and enjoyed immensely, but once I settled into full-time work, my passion for playing the same old songs every weekend to the same old crowds for little more than beer money, ebbed to the point that I took up acoustic guitar, and haven't played onstage in years (I still jam with friends at parties and practice while watching Rachel Maddow on TV and stuff, lol).
I developed an interest in film in college, and even took a few classes in documentary filmmaking. When years later I became involved as a still shooter in the adult biz back in 2000, my interest was rekindled, so I soon started shooting 8mm video, and now (11+ years later) I am living my (adult) dream you could say.
Since I add-in licensed music mixes to many of my videos, being a content producer in adult allows me to play with my musical creativity, as I constantly try to develop my skills in digital media.
I also do a handful of Asian Diva Girls live events each year, which integrate music, modeling, and creative presentations, which helps to keep life interesting.
While I am always trying to accrue new skills, the pace of the work is so demanding, that I need to schedule more time for learning and experimenting in the coming year.
Final note: I am the king of naked air guitar!
