1) dating and cams already today is the biggest chunk in online porn.
2) if ads are affiliate links, how is most of mainstream porn not already now ad based? Or how was it EVER different? The vast majority has always been traffic feeding sites.
3) big companies always buy smaller ones, that's just standard business
