They're not quite as repressed as the Amish. They usually have nice cars, cell phones, etc. They're hard working people like the Amish though. They do more before 8am than I do all week. Most of them speak at least two languages. The ones I knew were German so at home they spoke German, around town, English and some of their families settled in Mexico so many spoke Spanish too.
There are a lot of them in the midwest. Kansas, Missouri, Indiana especially. Usually around smaller towns. When I lived in SW Kansas they had bake sales every weekend at the local farmer's market. I actually had a Mennonite lady who would save me a peach pie every other weekend.
