In my opinion you are best off using a framework.

Three great frameworks are

Thesis

Genesis

or my favorite for porn sites

FlexSqueeze.

You can make all three look however you like, even get a designer if you feel the need to create a child theme, however the advantage is the powerful back ends and seo qualities of these themes. If you choose a framework and use it for all your sites then everything is the same and consistent to you in the backend, while to the end user every look can be different.

FlexSqueeze has the advantage of being able to use it for mainstream squeeze and sales pages with inbuilt short codes for buttons, arrows, pay now, buy now, subscribe buttons, paypal graphics, headers, sales page graphics and heaps more. It's like the internet marketing power house for Wordpress.

Using a framework will provide you with consistency on the back end and also streamline setting up sites, you just keep a premade copy of Wordpress with your themes and plugins already installed, upload it to each new site and activate. A few clicks and your site will be ready and you can customise your premade copy to create a unique design.
