Tragedy is they seemed to be doing the right thing by their own people, and now their country is going to enjoy the 'benefits' of 'freedom' we do. In 1984, Orwell said if you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever. Our future, and now Libya's, is being raped in the ass by big business - forever.
What is really worse, a single party for 40 years that spends and invests its oil revenue wisely, has no debt so is not owned by any foreign power or business, and that looks after its own people well...
Or a Government of "choice" (the same way choosing Coke or Pepsi gives you a choice of cola or cola), where it is in fact truly impossible for anyone to change anything; where, as this thread demonstrates clearly, the media spew unashamed Government black propaganda to the point where if they say something, you should believe the exact opposite.
We talk about him being a tyrant like we're any better, because we have one more party than they had. In what way was our Government different in the last 40 years than it is now? If you don't follow the elitist, pro-big business doctrine of the two brands, you have no chance of getting anywhere. That is a fucking tyranny.
The main difference between us and third world dictatorships is that they're less sophisticated; they haven't been at it as long as we have, so don't yet know you don't put your face everywhere, like Big Brother, but that the trick is to change the face of the tyranny every four or five years, while standing back and pulling the strings.
