Perry's an idiot, he's got the look that would win him the presidency but that religious bullshit means he's unelectable. The Republicans just don't get it, their kooks are worse to the American people than the Democrats' kooks. The Republicans of the Reagan era didn't have the religious right and Tea Party clowns to weigh them down, at that time the religious right were on the fringe and all Reagan had to do is throw in a few 'God bless us all' 's into speeches to keep Christians happy.
