On a personal note, I knew a girl with IBS, she never bothered having breakfast. Obviously breakfast is as they say "The Most Important Meal of the Day" as it's a "Break from the Fast" i.e you've been fasting through the night so you are in desperate need to eat again. Your stomach is meant to have a regular flow of food going through it to ensure the food gets pushed through to the next stage of digestion after the correct amount time; you don't want food staying in one particular stage for too long, that's when things go wrong. Timing is important, things go wrong when the timing is out.
So, don't skip meals, especially not breakfast, but there are a number of triggers so perhaps it's something else for you.
