I know I'm new around here, but might I suggest a thread where copies of the DMCA notices people have sent to these hosting companies that are ALLEGEDLY (very important to remember it's officially only an accusation at this point) are posted instead of just generalized allegations?
This seems like a fair and logical approach that should offer some protection for the one making the public accusation from libel and defamation complaints. You're also going to be doing the industry the service of informing other parties who may be unknowing victims of the same site which will increase the stack of complaints in front of said host. The more complaints the host has had submitted to them and does nothing about, the harder it becomes for them to detach themselves from the lawsuit that follows.
A secondary effect of keeping such a public record of complaints submitted to these hosts, as well as an accurate public accounting of their response or lack thereof would be the ability to organize industry-wide (well, GFY.com-wide, which is about the same thing if you include all the lurkers) boycotts of those hosting services.
Just a suggestion. It really does chap my butt that people who consider themselves 'business' folk are so ridiculously short-sighted. If the photographers and videographers can't afford to produce the content that these people are profiting from stealing anymore, everybody loses.
Be well and happy humping.
EDIT: Just for neatness and to avoid 'discrimination', I want to clarify that I include 'amateurs' who produce their own content for their own privately-held websites within my definitions of 'photographers' and 'videographers'. I've seen people get a bit prickly on this forum about their professions, so I wanted to make that inclusion.
