On the one hand, he's on to something. On the other hand, he's not nearly there yet.
The problem is, 98% of the stolen and uploaded content is done by 1% of the people. The other 99% are valued customers and anything that affects them without affecting the 1% just annoys your customers in some way.
The few guys who steal 98% of the content and upload it everywhere don't give a crap about file names. They just click the "save video" button they've added to their toolbar. They won't even notice simple shit like like some silly javascript intercepting right click in IE because it doesn't matter to them. Their preinstalled tools handle that automatically.
The idea of having the audio and video track separate could be interesting if he can actually sync it so tightly that it doesn't look like a kung fu movie. That's the kind of thing we've been looking into and we have some other ideas that could be combined with that. I would be interested in talking to him if he knows how to implement this stuff, as I just don't have the time to do so right now.
