I remember when NAFTA went through. What a fucking piece of shit that was - Let's take American jobs and move them to Mexico. Wonderful.
Here's the solution.... Trade embargos. There is nothing made in other countries that we cannot make ourselves. In other words, the Germans should not be making Volkswagons in Mexico to sell in America. You want to sell a car in the US, it needs to be American made. (We can make exceptions for smaller car makers like Jaguar, etc.)
Electronics too - Yeah, it might just double the price of an iPod but maybe we need that. I walked my kid to the bus this morning and every fucking kid had an iPod. We are so spoiled it's not funny. We can plunk down $300 for an iPod for our kids to listen to on the bus, but in Africa they can't afford $2 a day to feed their family.
If you want to sell it in the United States, it needs to be made here. Period.
