I assume the model was an independent contractor ?
Was the shooter independent hired or on salary ?
If it's 1099 income then almost guaranteed the girl is responsible for her own well being, if she get hurt and can't work it's still a contract breach unless there is a clause in the contract about it. Hence it's also her responsibility to make sure she have insurance covering herself, even when working since she technically work for herself.
It's also possible the liability is with her agent.
Initially I'd probably offer some help to the model if she was reasonable, at this stage I'd feel obligated to go to court to defend myself and my company since I wouldn't want to assume responsibility over contractors if something more serious ever happened (i.e.: sexual diseases, aids/hiv etc etc)
