I've never met Johnny Thrust, so after reading the negative comments about him in this thread, I was curious to know who this guy is that Brazzers / Manwin hires, instructs, and entrusts to direct movies for them.
I thought maybe Thrust was a noob considering the comedy of errors on his set for Brazzers / Manwin.
A Google search brought up two performers named Johnny Thrust.
One is a gay performer, and the other straight, so I am assuming that the straight Johnny Thrust is the one that Brazzers / Manwin employed:

I know that I have seen this guy in some video scenes before, although nothing memorable about his performances stands out.
When I looked at his bio, it indicated that Johnny Thrust has been in the adult industry since 1995 (15+ years), working in hundreds of scenes as a performer, PA, and occasionally as a Director, making it even more inexplicable that he would expose himself and possibly Brazzers / Manwin to liability due to gross negligence.
However, after reading more about Johnny Thrust online, I am honestly surprised that Brazzers / Manwin would hire him as a Director in the first place - he comes off badly in the infamous Tanner Mayes BTS meltdown video, demonstrating a level of unprofessionalism that I have rarely seen before (the performer's condition and attitude notwithstanding):
After viewing Thrust's inability to professionally manage that situation on set (he made a bad situation worse), it is not difficult to see how things went so badly at the Brazzers / Manwin shoot, in which a performer he was directing for Brazzers / Manwin was injured, and then was allegedly not provided proper medical care.
Being a Director carries a lot more responsibility than being a mope in porn scenes (Thrust is frequently cast as a sleazeball/loser type - not a big acting stretch from what I can tell).
BTW, Tanner clearly appeared to be drunk or on drugs in the video too. This is confirmed in a subsequent interview with Tanner in which she states, "I was also on xanax and had been
drinking on set".
One of the crew even later admitted that Tanner had been provided with alcohol, using the following as rationale:

NOTE: Tanner Mayes was NOT of legal drinking age (21) at the time. Furnishing alcohol to minors is illegal in California.
In her condition, she would never have even been allowed on my set. Instead the crew ridiculed, provoked, and antagonized, an obviously impaired and very upset performer, whom they had furnished with, and allowed to consume alcohol on their set.
They then edit the BTS tape (example, cutting away before Tanner was able to describe how she felt she had been molested on the set by Johnny Thrust), and release the video to further ridicule the performer. How professional. And these are the kind of people Brazzers / Manwin hires to produce content...
Fabian Thylmann likes to talk about professionalism, yet this is the caliber of "professional" that Brazzers / Manwin employs to direct their videos.
