Can you see any puncture marks on the neck anywhere? If he will let you, use a non-perfumed soap to clean the neck area and examine for puncture marks, cuts or other damage.

Is he labouring to breathe or just wheezing? Check the color of his gums and tounge. The gums should be a pale pink color and the tounge a nice healthy pink. If either the tounge or gums is a pale white color or a pale blue color the cat is not able to fully oxygenate its blood.

If the cat remains generally calm and isn't struggling too much to breathe you should be good untilt he vet opens. Most cities have 24 hour Emergency Vets. Your Vet may well forward emergency calls to them after hours or at least list their contact information. It will cost you a premium but if you're that worried, go to the Vet now.
