VJo Good luck with your Kitty.
Keep in mind these stats:
Indoor cat Average lifespan = 12 year+
Outdoor cat average lifespan = 5 years or less
Quote:
Statistics indicate that the life span of an indoor cat is much longer than an outdoor cat. On average, an indoor cat lives twelve years but some cats can live for as many as twenty years. In comparison, an outdoor cat’s life expectancy is less than five years

Of course since I live in FL my indoor cats have it better since I made a little doggie door to my big screened in patio where they can watch the ducks on the lake, all the birds lizards frogs and snakes all day, they are pretty lucky for indoor cats. Much harder when we were up north being indoors all day.
Vjo, now that your cat is considered a "geriatric" you should consider leaving him indoors or limiting his outdoor activities, older cats tend to get beat up pretty bad by younger males.
