No idea, drugs were involved too. It was in Korat, they usually don't have these types of busts, so there is a good chance they don't know how much they can get out of them, which may end up not costing so much.
However, the new PM has waged a new war on drugs so the police may be under more pressure to deal with those caught with it. Last time there was a "war on drugs" they literally just murdered all
suspected traffickers. I think close to 3000 people were executed, without trial. But in reality, the police (biggest dealers of all) just eliminated their competition and anyone who could spill the beans on them. 3rd world justice.
