Any time you see a mismatched couple, it's usually about luck and timing. Sure, he's a funny guy, blah blah -- but any ugly dudes I know of that happen to be with a girl above their level are in right circle of friends to know that particular girl.
And these type of guys usually cultivate a familiarity for a LONG time, and have to sneak in the idea of a relationship after months or even years of work. Not in this actor's case, because he's an actor. But most guys have to get past the fact that the girl decided within 5 seconds of meeting him that she would NEVER have sex with him.
Of course, this is just my theory -- but I've seen it first hand. I watched a guy act like a hottie's friend for a couple of years, and she was stupid enough to think he was just a good guy. Eventually she started dating him, even though he has a face that can make a freight train jump the tracks.
I had already fucked her within 2 weeks after she started working at our office, and I didn't act like a friend to her.
