People still buy, just ever decreasing numbers. Free is only part of the reason.

If the industry that's charging $30 a month and can't compete with what's being given away. People need to sit down and start figuring out how to convert more of what they have.

Squealers analogy was the same as many others. Stupid.

Simply saying online did for porn what the car did for transport is stupid. Yes Squealer stupid. The car improved transport for the individual and the transport industry by amounts that are mind blowing.

What has the Internet done to improve the porn industry?

It's allowed a lot more small Ma & Pa and one man bands to get into the business. The vast majority of affiliates are people working on their own from home.

It's allowed people like Dig420 to open a feeds company, to supply lots porn to paysites. http://www.extremefeeds.com/feeds.php Not sure if this is DVD porn or custom shot for his feeds or a mix. Great feed for small sites who can't afford to shoot much themselves.

It's allowed a lot of people to open sites and have small companies. 1-4 man bands, who would of never of got into porn without the Internet.

It's allowed a lot of shooters who would never of sold to offline to sell online.

Other than a handful of companies, it's become a big collection of small companies.

But what did it do for the porn product? Where was the adaptation, innovation and stretching of the whole product the Internet made possible? That offline couldn't do.

Generally speaking, the product it did nothing for. What ever porn is online, was available offline. Anyone who walked around a Berlin Venus show would of seen lot's of Micro Niche Videos for sale. There was MILF, TEENS, BIG TITS, SMALL TITS, GRANNIES, EBONY, BBW, INTER-RACIAL, GIRLS FUCKED IN VEHICLES. etc.

So what has happened to sites from 1995 to 2011?

Quality of image, speed and size. All technology and nothing done by the industry. Some sites survived and many didn't.

The biggest change in the porn business because of online porn is the need to buy. There's now no need to buy.

We went from giving a few single images away on Newsgroups. To giving small TGPs with a few pictures, to bigger ones with 20 second video clips, to 100 if not 1,000s of sites with 10,000s of scenes 60 minutes to 5 minutes.

The biggest and most effective use we made of the Internet is to make buying the product totally unnecessary. In fact we made not buying better than buying. And anyone who claimed this was the road to a fall was ridiculed, usually by people whose entire living depended on giving away more porn than the next man.
