Then they said I had to pay $3 for shipping costs and wanted a credit card number, but before that, they wanted to create an account for me with a username and password. So i gave them some BS username and for a password they said to use your mothers maiden name

I wonder how many people they got on this? With this info, you can call the bank and request a new card sent out to a new address.
