You're right, the facts should prompt rage, tears and action to change the situation, but that action has to start from within the black communities. You know as well as I do why blacks are convicted on drug charges at a higher rate, because more often than not they're the ones selling the drugs, and the way they do it in open air drug markets is so blatantly obvious. They're just asking to get caught. Then you have the whole 'stop snitchin' mentality that makes it even worse. I grew up in the city, and there was certain minority neighborhoods where you'd have a hard time finding someone that WASN'T involved in the drug trade. The decent, law abiding people did nothing about it for fear of retribution. It's a cultural problem within the black community much more so than a race problem.
