Perhaps, but we are not fools and have substantial assets to protect.
The misnomer of "blackmailing" as you call it should be more properly called "legal extortion" in its most extreme connotation.
In the final analysis -- the cost of a defensive registration to us is trivial. However, we will never agree to some NGO (non governmental organization) dictating to us on our content or general business practices that are within the laws of the international venue in which we operate.
