I was on a southwest flight from Kansas City to Las Vegas when something similar happened. Two rows in front of me was a couple who was making out excessively before we even left the gate. The ladies directly in front of me complained and the flight attendant asked them to "restrain themselves" for the duration of the flight.
They continued despite the warning so the pilot came back and told them they'd have to either agree to sit separately or leave the plane. As it turned out they were on their way to get married in Vegas and were very polite about being separated for the flight.
They were straight and if they hadn't agreed to sit separately they would have gotten kicked off the plane too.
