Friend was dating a drug dealer aka pharmaceutical representative. When asked about the long term side effects of one of the popular drugs she was pushing, her response was "it is about the improved quality of life for the person then suffering from _________".
My mother told me 10 years ago, doctors and pharmacists get money from the Pharmaceutical companies. I honestly didnt believe her back then. I asked the pharm rep, and she admitted that some medical groups are making millions per year. The pharmaceutical company actually can track the prescription in a database, to see if the doctors and pharmacists "on their payroll" are issuing their brand, a competitors product, or a generic. If they dont meet their quota/ratio, the Doctors and Pharmacists have there kickback money slashed big time to teach them a lesson.
Corruption is now seen at all levels ... even at the local level of a family doctor.
