There is no argument that proper nutrition will prolong your life, even after being diagnosed with cancer, but it is not going to cure anything, that is for sure.

My gf has a dog who was diagnosed with cancer about 4 years ago, had large tumors seemed like he was on his last legs and was suggested to consider putting him down. She decided to do a little research first, changed some things with his food, gave him a more calorie dense grain free high protein diet and he is still running around chasing a frisbee, rolling on the floor acting like an ass (as he always does) stealing food off our plates and counters and couldn't be happier.. Tumors are still there, they slow him down obviously and he can't walk very long distances anymore but he is still running strong, and diet and spirit has everything to do with it i'm sure. We know he probably doesn't have a lot of time left, and he may just give out at anytime now but he is living proof that diet can help and even save you. Probably why i'm so preachy about foods myself!
You kind of disproved your own point by pointing out that your gf's dog has lived another 28 human years after changing his diet. I think if most people that get cancer could live another 28 years by simply changing their diet they would take that in a heartbeat and consider it a "cure".
