Size of the lens.... The size of a 10:1 zoom lens will make the camera very heavy and difficult to operate. The focus becomes more critical and so a camera assistant is needed.

As the quality improves so the expertise of the crew has grow to exploit the new possibilities.

The Sony EX1 with its very good 13:1 zoom produces the same quality images with a smaller and easy camera to operate.

The large format cameras have a greater potential but will need more time, crew and money.
